GFC Cup - 2008

GFC Cup is a Cal South sanctioned tournament.

TOURNAMENT DATES:
The GFC Cup will be held on January 12th and 13th, 2008.
All championship matches will be held on Sunday.

COST:

U9 - U10 $450
U11 - U14 $525

LATE REGISTRATION:
Teams applying after December 19th will be accessed an additional $50.00 and will be placed on a waiting list. It is at the sole discretion of the tournament committee to offer any late team a placement in the tournament after the deadline. If that does not occur, a full refund will be given.

1. Refunds will be made to all teams not accepted.
2. Teams must drop via an email prior to December 15, 2007.

** Refunds provided to teams that drop prior to the deadline, will be assessed a $25.00 transaction fee.
Teams that drop after the December 15th deadline, will forfeit their entire application fee!!!

3. A cancellation fee of approximately one-third of the entry fee will be withheld from each team’s refund if the tournament is cancelled as a result of weather, acts of terrorism or acts of God after December 10,2007. If the tournament is cancelled once it begins, determinations of any refunds will be determined by the Board of Directors of the Glendora Football Club. The Tournament Director or Referee may suspend a tournament match for any circumstance in consideration of player safety or potential field damage.

PLEASE READ AND UNDERSTAND THE FOLLOWING:

4. Early registration does not guarantee acceptance.

5. Teams from outside the State of California will receive automatic acceptance into the tournament upon completion of their application and receipt of their payment. Team must be in good standing with the tournament. The Tournament Director will be the sole authority on the status of any team.

Teams in California, but outside the jurisdiction of CYSA_South may request early acceptance by emailing the Tournament Director. Please submit your request ASAP. gfcsoccerprogram@aol.com

All other applicants will be approved or denied acceptance by the selection committee to insure competitive soccer. Current Coast Soccer League standings may be used by the selection committee to determine acceptance into the tournament. It is at the sole discretion of the tournament which teams it determines to accept.

6. Check-in will be one and a half hours before game time. Check-in can be facilitated by any team representative.

7. Current US Club Soccer player identification cards & medical release forms. Cal South player cards with medical releases will be accepted. Travel papers (if necessary). Contact the Tournament Director with questions gfcsoccerprogram@aol.com

LOANED PLAYERS:
Loaned players will be allowed (maximum of 7) with a maximum roster of 18 players for U11-U14. For U8-U10, loan players allowed (maximum of 7) with a maximum roster of 12.

MINIMUM PLAYERS:
U8-U10 teams must have a minimum of 6 players to start a game. U8-U10 will play and 8v8 format with no exceptions. U11 and older must have a minimum of 7 players to start a game. Failure to provide these minimums at game time will result in a forfeit.

GAMES:
Each team is guaranteed a minimum of three games. There are no quarter-finals or semi-finals. Pool play determines finalists. The length of games will be as follows for all pool play matches:

U8 - U10 50 Minutes
U11 - U12 60 Minutes
U13 - U14 70 Minutes

All championship games will be at regulation times or slightly modified based on the finals schedule.

BRACKETING:
It is the intent of the tournament to bracket in flights of 8, 12, or 16 teams. Variations may occur based on the total teams entered or subsequent team drops. There will be no compensation for the loss of a game due to a team forfeiting or dropping from the tournament.

AWARDS:
A Championship team trophy will be provided to the winner.  Medals will be available for both teams participating in the final match.

GFC CUP WEBSITE:
This website shall be the final reference for all schedules, scores, rules, policies and procedures. Any conflicts between this site and other published information shall default to this site. The tournament Committee maintains the right to independantly make new and possibly conflicting rules or regulations on the web site at any time.
